Are you passionate about road safety and traffic management? We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Advisor (Temporary Traffic Management) to join the Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD) division of TMR on a 6-month temporary contract. Based in Toowoomba, this frontline advisory role supports local operations while also collaborating with traffic management
professionals across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review simple and complex Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP) for maintenance and construction projects, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and regulations.
- Monitor and inspect temporary traffic management (TTM) implementation to ensure compliance and safety.
- Coordinate and support TTM technical training initiatives and trial innovative TTM devices and practices.
- Assist with performance management of traffic control companies and subcontractors under the Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA).
- Provide on-site education, coaching, and mentoring for local teams to improve TTM capability.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in preparing TMPs and TGSs using recognised traffic management design programs.
- Strong working knowledge of TTM standards, guidelines, and compliance monitoring.
- Desirable qualifications include Traffic Management Design (TMD) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
- A practical mindset with a focus on safety, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to think laterally and strategically to deliver safe and efficient solutions in a dynamic environment.
