Working alongside the Manager Legal Services, you will be responsible for ensuring that deliverables, targets and KPI’s are met in the areas of work you will be covering.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Practice Excellence:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate systems and practices to ensure the legal practice aligns with organizational objectives and risk management standards.
- Uphold professional and ethical obligations, adhering to Queensland Law Society regulations and the National Association of Community Legal Centres Risk Management Guide.
- Lead the development of systems for compliance with NACLC Risk Management Guide, undertaking the Responsible or Nominated Person’s role as required.
- Supervise team members to provide accurate and timely legal advice and assistance, ensuring adherence to service agreement targets.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of legal professionals, including Senior Solicitors, to provide strategic and effective legal advice and casework.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing client service quality and achieving performance targets.
- Offer coaching and mentorship to enhance engagement, productivity, and commitment.
- Collaborate with other legal staff to develop targeted community legal education programs.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Foster robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the organization effectively.
- Network with service providers, governmental bodies, and community partners to address systemic legal issues and initiate impactful policy responses.
Compliance and Professional Development:
- Ensure meticulous client record-keeping and statistics maintenance, compliant with established standards.
- Lead accreditation processes for the legal team, collaborating with QA and the Manager of Legal Services.
- Stay updated with legal trends, maintaining professional growth and delivering high-quality legal advice and services.

Qualifications:
- Eligibility for a QLD Practising Certificate to practice as a principal of a legal practice.
- Minimum 5 years PAE with a demonstrated commitment to social justice.
- Compliance with NACLC Risk Management Guide and relevant Professional rules.
