Payroll Officer- PT

Experienced Payroll Officer, $40 per hour + Super, great team environment, Thursday availability is a must, generous $$$, Toowoomba location
Our client, a well-established, family-owned business with branches throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales is seeking a Part- time Payroll Officer for their Toowoomba branch.

The part – time position is working 3/4 days a week, with flexibility on times and days, but you must have availability on Thursdays.  

The Payroll Officer is responsible for providing financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of payroll and statutory reporting. The Payroll Officer reports directly to the Managing Director and Financial controller.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining Electronic staff files
  • Payroll of 200 staff
  • Facilitate contracts for new staff
  • Processing of payroll fortnightly
  • Payment of Superannuation
  • Payment of payroll tax
  • Performing account reconciliations
  • Monitor staff accounts details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Produce monthly summary reports
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
  • Maintain Vehicle register and Insurances

To be successful in this position, you will require: 

  • Proven working experience as an accounts payroll clerk, accounts payroll manager or accountant
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face to face
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience
  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner
  • Confidentiality: Protects organisations value by keeping information confidential

Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally is essential.
