Are you a skilled finance professional with experience in government financial management? Our client, a State Government organisation, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join their Finance and Procurement Team.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the Agriculture business group by providing financial and procurement advice, analysis, and support.
Location: Toowoomba
Work Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Term: 6-month contract with a possible extension.
Pay Rate: $58.02 per hour.
As an AO4 Finance Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Financial Reporting: Support the Team Leader and Senior Finance Officers in preparing monthly financial reports for Agriculture business groups.
- Variance Analysis: Undertake financial investigations and variance analysis, including the rectification of issues via journals and other corrective actions.
- Accounts Management: Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice payments, vendor maintenance, purchase order creation, and revenue invoicing.
- Stakeholder Communication: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership, to provide financial advice and ensure effective communication.
- Procurement Support: Assist with procurement activities in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Financial Advice: Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders on financial processes and the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM).
Preferred Requirements:
- Government Experience: Previous experience working within a government finance environment, particularly in financial management desired, however, not essential.
- Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including accrual accounting.
- SAP Experience: Experience with SAP or similar financial management software is highly desirable.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
