L6 Supervisor Construction & Maintenance

Immediate start required, office based role, temp Government position, Full – time, Monday – Friday, 6 month contract with possibility of extension.
Our client, a State Government department, is currently seeking a full-time  Supervisor for the Infrastructure Constructions & Maintenance department. This role requires an immediate start and offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team overseeing construction and maintenance projects.

As a Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating project planning and delivery activities to ensure profitability, high-quality outcomes, and client satisfaction. This position will focus on delivering services that meet the expectations for quality and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering projects by efficiently supervising office staff, field staff, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct high-quality condition assessments and provide accurate estimations to ensure cost-effective project outcomes.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, human resource practices, and employment equity principles.
  • Supervise the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work undertaken by department.
  • Prepare and produce high-quality tender and quotation documentation, including accurate estimates, material lists, and construction programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct condition assessments for department clients, including inspections of building elements, materials, and collection of asbestos samples for laboratory testing.
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety practices in coordination with WHS advisors and managers.
  • Participate in WHS audits and ensure all job documentation includes the required risk assessments and safe work method statements.

Specific Capabilities & Requirements:

  • Construction industry-related trade qualification (highly desirable).
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card.
  • Preferred building industry trade background.
  • Experience in supervisory roles, including scoping and tendering.
  • Ability to start immediately and work until the end of the financial year.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as travel (including overnight stays and occasional light aircraft travel) is an integral part of this role.

Please Note:
This position involves travel, including overnight stays of up to 4 nights (or as negotiated), primarily by road, with occasional light aircraft travel.
