Are you an experienced information security professional looking to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a skilled Information Security Manager to lead the implementation and ongoing operation of a State Government department’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on ISO 27001, ensuring compliance with the Queensland Government Information and Cyber Security Policy (IS18).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and management of the ISMS, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Engage with users, stakeholders, vendors, and ICT professionals to promote a shared understanding of cybersecurity.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and best practices across the organisation.
- Provide expert analysis and advice on information security maturity, ensuring compliance with legislation and frameworks.
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents, develop responses, and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Conduct risk assessments on information assets and advocate for appropriate security controls.
- Measure, evaluate, and report on security controls, policies, and processes, recommending remediation where needed.
- Assess procurement documents and contracts to ensure security controls are in place for external suppliers.
- Develop strategic action plans to enhance cybersecurity processes and operational efficiency.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:
✔ Proven experience in information security management, including ISO 27001 implementation.
✔ Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and risk management.
✔ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to promote security awareness.
✔ Experience in incident response, security assessments, and compliance reporting.
✔ Ability to develop and implement strategic action plans to improve security operations.
