Our client, a local government department, is seeking Field Workers to join their Bitumen and Patching teams. In this role, you will be responsible for general labouring duties, primarily focused on pothole repairs and road maintenance around the city. A background in civil construction will be advantageous as you work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Position Title: Field Workers (Bitumen and Patching)
Hourly Rate: $32.25
Depot Location: Riverview Depot
Work Hours: 6:15am – 3:15pm
Duration of Appointment: Immediate start until 28/07/2025 with the possibility of extension.
Key Duties:
- General labouring within the Bitumen and Patching teams
- Carry out pothole repairs and other road maintenance tasks around the city
- Adhere to all WHS policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation
- Occasionally drive the crew truck
- Operate plant and equipment within licence requirements, manufacturer’s specifications, and Council standards
- Move between various bitumen and pavement teams based on resourcing needs
- Operate small plant and equipment within licence requirements and Council standards
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in civil construction (preferred)
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WHS procedures
- MR Licence and White Card are mandatory
- Ability to operate plant and equipment in line with Council standards
Mandatory Requirements:
- Pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening)
- Construction Card (White Card)
- MR Licence
