Commercial Manager

Our client, an established, non-profit, charitable organisation which is governed by a Board of Directors, is one of the most recognised and supported charities in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.  Dedicated to delivering quality products and services whilst fostering a culture of wellbeing and support, our client has built a strong business and social enterprise base supporting and enhancing community experience.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to drive our client’s commercial operations, encompassing a range of enterprises in the retail, operational and hospitality sectors.  This entails leading strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, maximise revenue, and improve profit margins, ultimately supporting our client’s broader strategic objectives.  In addition, the Commercial Manager will foster a culture of support and wellbeing within the organisation, ensuring a conducive environment for both employees and external stakeholders alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to respective Managers responsible for the operational excellence of various commercial ventures.
  • Monitor financial performance across all ventures, identifying opportunities to improve profit margins and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to enhance customer service standards, streamline sales processes, and optimize revenue generation for each commercial operation.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations across all operations, collaborating with relevant managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain contracts with suppliers, ensuring optimal pricing and service levels.
  • Lead, support and mentor the team in the delivery of projects and new initiatives, providing advice regarding costs/benefit analysis
  • Work closely with marketing teams to develop and implement strategies aimed at enhancing brand visibility, product placement, and revenue growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and any relevant certificates in Business Administration, Finance, or similar, will be highly advantageous
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in commercial operations management
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with a focus on team development and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Project management experience (highly desirable)
