Position Overview
The HB Group is in search of a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to spearhead our client’s business service functions, spanning finance, payroll, HR, WHS, cleaning, projects, administrative, and volunteer functions.  This pivotal role involves optimising the impact of volunteers, fostering a culture of high performance, respect, and continuous improvement, and championing a contemporary WHS culture with a wellbeing focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the business service functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellence across all areas
  • Oversee financial management, including budget development, financial reporting, external audits, and compliance
  • Provide direction and guidance to the HR Manager, ensuring effective recruitment and selection, onboarding, and compliance with regulations
  • Enhance the impact of volunteers, aligning their efforts to organisational vision and values, ensuring compliance and effective leadership
  • Cultivate a culture of high performance, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Establish and nurture a contemporary WHS culture with a focus on wellbeing, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and proactive response to workplace safety
  • Collaborate with managers to optimise administrative and cleaning processes
  • Manage impact management initiatives, quantifying and communication the organisation’s impact

Your Skills, Experience and Behaviours

  • Business Degree or Finance Degree, and any relevant certificates or other degree qualifications in business administration, finance, or similar
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position of Operations Manager or General Manager
  • Financial management skills, including an understanding of the process around creditors, debtors, and payroll, and an ability to improve financial processes, as well as the ability to prepare meaningful financial reports
  • An understanding of industrial relations law and ability to interpret and implement legislative requirements
  • Strong leadership skills and ability, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills
